It's been over a week since last I wrote, which is clearly not optimal for an aspiring blogger. I guess I'm still figuring out my personal writing style and exactly what it is I want to share with the world.
Last weekend, I made a trip back stateside to attend a wedding. It was strange being in central London one day and rural Pennsylvania the next. I guess it goes to show how small the world is now. On my way to and from the wedding, I managed to squeeze in some time in my old stomping ground: NYC.
Wandering the streets and revisiting some of my favorite spots (Toby's Estate in Williamsburg for one; the egg and bacon sandwich always hits the spot), I started to feel nostalgic towards my old home yet excited to return to my new one. I've only been in London for 3 months, but the city has finally started to feel like home. Why? It might be the new sofa, where I plan on spending many of my waking hours. However, the real reason I feel at home is because of my dog: Sammy.
As I write this post, Sammy is laying right next to me, snoring away. I often wonder how this wacky little creature can bring so much joy into our lives by doing absolutely nothing. The amount we pay for food, medical expenses, travel costs, dog walking is incomprehensible. Yet at the end of the day, it all seems to be so worth it. Michael likes to say that she brings the joy of parenthood without the annoying stuff...like talking. After 3 years, I can't imagine our lives without Sammy....snores, farts and all.
Make sure you follow Sammy's instagram feed @wandering_sammy. You'll get to see just how exciting and adventurous her life really is.
