For the past 6 years, the season-ending ATP World Tour Final has taken place at the O2 Arena in London. The top 8 singles tennis players and doubles teams are invited, and champions are crowned based on round-robin play followed by a top 4 bracket.
We purchased Saturday evening tickets a few days in advance of the semi-finals without knowing which match we would see. I was initially hoping to catch Novak Djokovic (my favorite player) in action. However, I was more than satisfied to watch the all-Swiss semi-final match between Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka. Lucky for us, this was an extremely tense and emotion-filled match, with Federer taking it in the deciding 3rd set tie-breaker. Novak Djokovic would later end up winning the tournament when Federer pulled out of the finals for health reasons. Rumors also have it that Federer and Wawrinka got into a tiff following their match.
Take a look below at some photos from the event as well as a short video compilation I put together. It includes 2 match points, one for each player. This will hopefully be the first of more video content to come. You can subscribe to my newly created YouTube channel for future updates!
